Friday … again
Frivolous Friday
How time flies when you’re having fun
Friday, everyone’s favorite day of the working week, no work in the morning so it’s time to party. Or maybe just cycle a few more miles before opening a bottle of wine to celebrate the weekend.
Thursday two
Struggling here to keep up the alliterations
Maybe someone let the cat out of the bag (goodness’s knows we have enough cats!) over my admission yesterday that I know where my wife’s chocolate is stashed but tonight I was informed that we need to go out to eat because a good juicy hamburger is desired. I suspect that I no longer know the whereabouts of the chocolate stash but that’s a story for another day.
Turns out that “go out to eat” meant get takeout from Hu-Dat. They seem to be offering a full menu again and so beef broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, and old fashioned hamburger were the order of the day.
It also meant that I could go out on my bike again tonight and, although not doing as many miles as usual, I did manage to go two over my weekly goal. (Hence the alliterative “two”)
Wednesday woes
Over the hill … and far away.
Spending all day on a computer (working from home) it’s really way too easy to just sit there and keep working. The proximity of the coffee pot and my wife’s chocolate stash (please don’t tell her I found it) is my destination each hour as my iWatch tells me I must stand!
However, by the end of the working day, my blood pressure is too high, my eyes are no longer focusing on near screen text, and I feel rotten. (Probably all that coffee)
Even with the outside temperature hitting 90F the answer to my problem is clearly exercise. So Gatorade in hand I set off on my bike swearing I’ll only go around the subdivision a couple of times. (Good luck with that idea)
As dusk approaches the temperature drops to 85F – perfect with a light wind.
Tuesday Ten
Monday Meander
Evening in Rockport
The temperature has been in the 90’s throughout the day so I was grateful it dropped into the high 80’s for my evening cycle ride around Rockport Country Club. As usual I intended to go out for, maybe, 5 miles but once I get that far I just can’t help myself and I end up doing 14 miles.
A reasonable start towards my weekly 50 mile goal.

Following on from the TEDx talk on city planning versus city engineering that I posted on Thursday the “what to watch police” thrust the following YouTube video my way (unsolicited). It features the same chap and again I seem to be in agreement with his opinions.
Although I do wear a bicycle helmet but only because it is impossible to guarantee that a ball cap will stay on your head in this windy location and I need something to protect my scalp from the searing rays of the South Texas sun.
