The Adventures of Tiger

The Adventures of Tiger

All caught up and current again.

Tiger, the ginger cat that I imported into our household last year when I found him whilst out cycling, has developed a nasty habit lately of bullying our black and white cat.
Bosco, the black and white cat, being a “gentleman” refuses to fight back and hides under the bed.
Several YouTube searches later Emily and I decided that Tiger might benefit from getting out a bit to broaden his horizons.
The answer was to get a bicycle cat carrier and take him for “walks”.
He seemed to enjoy it so we are hopeful that the problem is solved.

Freezing February weather f****d everything including the school system. With nowhere to go through the day it seems all Andrew’s friends descended on our house.
My son is 6 foot tall like most of his friends; he must get it from his mother’s side of the family.

Rockport in South Texas dipped down to 17F during the week beginning February 15th and we had no power, water or Internet for a week. If it wasn’t so cold I’d have sworn we had suffered another hurricane!
That’s a slight exaggeration although there were periods during the week when we were without one or more of these basic services.
The Internet was probably the most missed service in our house as we do not subscribe to TV and rely exclusively on streamed content thus we had no access to news and weather updates.

Snuggle up and get over it humans!

One last “unofficial” BridgeWalk on Saturday February 6th before Mike has to head off home to Colorado.
Never fear, we shall keep the tradition going in your absence and walk the bridge with you again when you return at the end of the year.

New Year’s Day 2021 and a few stalwart enthusiasts met at the Power Street on-ramp to continue the tradition of the New Year’s Day BridgeWalk. This was the first occasion since undergoing operations on her knees that my mother in law had attempted to walk the harbor bridge and she was only expecting to make it one way. To everyone’s delight she managed to walk both ways!

COVID has postponed the official BridgeWalk event for the foreseeable future but it has not dampened the enthusiasm of the regular participants.

At the end of December I took a drive out to the Wildlife refuge with my wife and mother in law and we saw Whooping Cranes. No photographic evidence but we were thrilled at the sight – live!

COVID’s a bummer and so is weird winter weather. Neither are conducive to keeping ones’ blog up to date so here is a catchup entry:

This was my Virtual Conquer the Coast Route for 2020. I posted about it at the time but here is the route map and the medal which proves I completed the course.
66 miles around Copano Bay; it would have been 77 miles from front door to front door but I listened to my wife’s advice and stopped when I’d completed the necessary 66 miles. Maybe that’s why I’m here to tell you about it 🙂
